Skiing, Kazbegi and the Caucasus
8 days | Skiing, Tbilisi and the Greater Caucasus
This journey is designed for travellers who want to experience Georgia in winter — combining skiing, mountain landscapes, local culture and the atmosphere of
the Caucasus. The program brings together time in Tbilisi, a scenic journey along the Georgian Military Highway and active days in Gudauri, one of Georgia’s best-known ski resorts. It is a winter trip for those who want more than a standard ski holiday: views of the Greater Caucasus, local food, Georgian hospitality, sulfur baths, traditional dinners and the feeling of discovering the country beyond the slopes. This is a strong choice for travellers who enjoy winter sports, but also want to experience Georgia itself — its capital, mountain roads, local flavours and warm evenings after cold days outside

How the journey is structured
This is an 8-day winter program of moderate intensity, designed for travellers
who want to combine skiing with culture, local experiences and time in the
Caucasus Mountains. The journey begins in Tbilisi, with time to discover the capital’s old streets, hidden corners, historical layers and local atmosphere. The route then continues along the Georgian Military Highway towards Gudauri, where several days are dedicated to skiing and winter activities.
The program is active, but not extreme. It is not designed as a high-difficulty
freeride expedition, although optional winter activities such as heliskiing,
snowmobiles or paragliding may be available depending on weather, safety
conditions, local availability and the group’s preferences.
The final part of the journey returns to Tbilisi, allowing time for relaxation, sulfur baths and a traditional Georgian supra. Accommodation is arranged in carefully selected properties, and all transfers are provided by private vehicle with driver.
Day 1 Arrival in Tbilisi
Arrival in Tbilisi and private transfer from the airport to the hotel. Depending on arrival time, there may be time for a first walk, dinner or a relaxed introduction to the city. This is the beginning of the winter journey — a first encounter with Georgia’s capital, its evening atmosphere and local hospitality.
Day 2 Tbilisi Beyond the Obvious
A full day in Tbilisi, approached not only through the main landmarks, but also through its hidden streets, courtyards and less obvious stories.
The program may include the old districts of the city, Sololaki, selected
historical houses, viewpoints and places connected with the city’s complex
past. This is a chance to discover Tbilisi as a city of contrasts: elegant
balconies, old merchant houses, Soviet traces, legends, political history and
everyday life. The day is designed as a cultural introduction before heading into the mountains.
Day 3
Georgian Military Highway and Arrival in Gudauri
The journey continues north along the Georgian Military Highway, one of the most scenic routes in the country. The road follows rivers, valleys and mountain landscapes towards the Greater Caucasus. Along the way, the program may include stops at selected viewpoints, Jinvali Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress or other locations depending on timing and weather
conditions. Arrival in Gudauri, Georgia’s best-known ski resort, located in the high mountains. Check-in, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4
Skiing in Gudauri
The first full skiing day in Gudauri. The resort offers wide slopes, open
mountain scenery and views across the Greater Caucasus.
This day allows travellers to enjoy the slopes, adjust to local conditions and
experience skiing in a very different setting from the classic Alpine resorts.
After skiing, time for rest, dinner and a relaxed evening in the mountains.
Day 5
Gudauri, Winter Activities and Mountain Views
Another active day in the Gudauri area. The program is focused on skiing,
mountain landscapes and winter atmosphere. For those interested, optional activities such as snowmobiling, paragliding or
other winter experiences may be available at an additional cost, depending on weather, safety conditions and local availability.
After a day in the snow, the evening is dedicated to local food, wine and time to rest.
Day 6 Gudauri Skiing and Caucasus Atmosphere
A third day in the mountains, with time for skiing and enjoying the winter
landscape of the Greater Caucasus. Depending on the group’s level and preferences, the day can be kept relaxed on prepared slopes or include more dynamic winter experiences arranged locally. The aim is to enjoy Gudauri at a comfortable pace, without turning the program into an extreme sports expedition. Dinner and overnight stay in the Gudauri area.
Day 7
Return to Tbilisi, Sulfur Baths and Farewell Supra
After the mountain part of the journey, return to Tbilisi. The program includes time to explore the city further, with possible visits to the Old Town, Narikala Fortress area or selected viewpoints. In the afternoon or evening, relaxation in Tbilisi’s famous sulfur baths — a perfect way to recover after active days on the slopes. The journey ends with a traditional Georgian supra: dinner with local dishes, wine, toasts and the warm atmosphere of Georgian hospitality.
Day 8

Time for final purchases of local products, wine, spices or souvenirs, depending on flight time. Transfer to Tbilisi airport and departure
