Georgia Uncovered

A one-day wine and culinary escape from Tbilisi to Kakheti

Join us for a relaxed one-day experience in Kakheti — Georgia’s most famous wine region and one of the most generous places in the country.

This tour brings together what Kakheti does best: qvevri wine, local food, warm hospitality, historic places, open landscapes and the slow rhythm of the Alazani Valley.

It is designed for travellers who want to leave Tbilisi for one day and experience Georgia through taste, tradition and place — without having to organise the logistics themselves.

Why join this tour?

Because Kakheti is not only about wine tasting. It is about the table, the landscape, the monastery bells, the smell of fresh bread, the vineyards under the Caucasus and the kind of hospitality that makes Georgia unforgettable.

In one well-balanced day, you will visit a historic monastery, discover traditional qvevri winemaking, taste local wines, take part in a Georgian cooking workshop, enjoy lunch with regional flavours and walk through Sighnaghi — one of the most charming towns in eastern Georgia.

It is a perfect choice if you want something richer than a standard day trip: easy to join, full of flavour and deeply connected to the spirit of Kakheti.

Tour itinerary

08:00 — Departure from Freedom Square, Tbilisi

Meet your guide in central Tbilisi and begin the journey to eastern Georgia.

09:30 — Ninotsminda Monastery

Visit one of the oldest Christian sites in Kakheti. You will see the atmospheric
ruins of a 6th-century church and learn about the early Christian heritage of
the region.

11:30 — Traditional winery and wine tasting

Visit a traditional Kakhetian winery and discover the Georgian method of winemaking in qvevri — large clay vessels buried underground and used for fermentation and ageing.

The visit includes an introduction to local wine traditions and a tasting of selected Georgian wines.

13:00 — Cooking workshops and lunch

Take part in a hands-on Georgian cooking experience. You will learn how to prepare classic Georgian dishes such as khinkali and khachapuri, and bake traditional Georgian bread in a tone oven.

After the workshop, enjoy a shared lunch with regional wines.

Travel through one of the most scenic wine regions in Georgia, with vineyards, open landscapes and views of the Greater Caucasus.

16:00 — Sighnaghi, the “City of Love”

This is one of the most picturesque towns in eastern Georgia and a beautiful final stop before returning to Tbilisi.
