A small-group journey through Georgia for independent travellers You may be travelling on your own. That does not mean you have to organise everything alone — or experience Georgia without company. Travel Solo, Not Alone is a small-group journey through Georgia designed for people who want to join a well-planned trip, share meals and experiences with others, and still keep their independence. This is not a dating trip. It is not a forced group holiday. It is a relaxed, well-organised journey for independent travellers who enjoy good company, beautiful landscapes, local food, wine, culture and enough space to feel free.
The route combines Tbilisi, ancient capitals, mountain roads, the Greater Caucasus, wine regions, local tables and the everyday atmosphere that makes
Georgia so memorable. You arrive on your own. You travel with a small group. And along the way, Georgia does what it does best: brings people together
around the road, the table and the story.
WHY THIS JOURNEY EXISTS
Many people want to travel, but do not always have someone to travel with.
Others simply enjoy travelling independently, while still appreciating the
comfort of a good plan, shared meals and a small group on the road.
Travel Solo, Not Alone was created for exactly that.
It gives you the freedom of travelling as yourself, with the ease of joining a
journey that is already organised, thoughtful and shared with people who are
there for the same reason. You do not need to wait for someone else to be ready. You can come on your own — and still have people to share the view, the meal and the story with.
HOW THE GROUP WORKS
The group is small, so the journey feels personal and relaxed.
There is time to talk, share meals and experience Georgia together — but
without forced integration, games or pressure to be social all the time.
You can join conversations, enjoy the group atmosphere and still have space for yourself. The aim is simple: good company, good planning and a journey that feels easy to join.
NOT A DATING TRIP
Travel Solo, Not Alone is not a dating trip and not a singles holiday.
It is a small-group journey for independent travellers who want to experience
Georgia with others — through landscapes, food, wine, culture and shared
moments on the road. The focus is on travel, not matchmaking.
Day 1 Kutaisi and the Beginning of the Story
Arrival in Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital and the starting point of the journey.
Depending on arrival time, there may be time for a short walk, a first coffee or a gentle introduction to the atmosphere of the city. The evening is reserved for the welcome dinner. This first table is an important part of the journey. It is where the group meets, the route is introduced and the rhythm of the trip begins naturally — over food, wine and conversation. No formal ice-breakers. No pressure. Just the first evening in Georgia, shared with people who have also chosen to travel on their own, but not completely alone. Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2 TBILISI — OLD STREETS, COURTYARDS AND CITY LAYERS
After breakfast, we begin discovering Tbilisi at an easy pace.
The route leads through the old city, where narrow streets, wooden balconies, hidden courtyards, churches, small squares and old merchant houses show the layered character of the Georgian capital.
We visit selected parts of the historic centre and Sololaki — one of the most
atmospheric districts of Tbilisi, known for its old staircases, carved doors,
painted entrances and courtyards hidden behind ordinary façades.
Along the way, we introduce the stories that shaped the city: trade routes,
empire, religion, local life and the mix of cultures that made Tbilisi one of the
most distinctive cities in the Caucasus. There is time for a relaxed lunch, coffee and small discoveries rather than rushed sightseeing. In the evening, dinner in Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 3
Martvili Canyon and the Road to the Mountains
After breakfast, we leave Tbilisi and travel to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia and one of the most important historical and spiritual centres of the country. We visit Jvari Monastery, set high above the meeting point of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers. From here, the landscape opens into one of the most iconic views in Georgia: rivers, roads, mountains and the old capital below. We then continue to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, one of the great monuments of medieval Georgia and a key place in the religious history of the country. From Mtskheta, the journey continues north along the Georgian Military Road. The road gradually enters the mountain landscape: Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress, river valleys and changing views of the Greater Caucasus. Along the way, we stop for lunch and a first taste of the mountain road atmosphere. By evening, we arrive in Stepantsminda, set at the foot of Mount Kazbek. Dinner and overnight in Stepantsminda.
Day 4
KAZBEGI — GERGETI AND THE HIGH CAUCASUS
The morning begins in the mountains.
We travel by 4×4 vehicles to Gergeti Trinity Church, one of the most
recognisable places in Georgia. Set high above Stepantsminda, with Mount
Kazbek rising behind it, Gergeti is one of those views that often stays in
memory long after the journey ends. Depending on weather and road conditions, we may continue towards Dariali Gorge or Truso Valley, both offering a different view of the northern Caucasus: mineral springs, dramatic valleys, old towers, mountain roads and the feeling of
being close to Georgia’s northern edge. The day is designed to enjoy the mountains without turning the programme into a difficult trek. There is time for views, photographs, short walks and a shared mountain lunch or dinner.
Evening at leisure in Stepantsminda. Dinner and overnight in Stepantsminda.
Day 5
FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO KAKHETI
After breakfast, we leave Stepantsminda and travel back through the mountain road towards eastern Georgia’s wine country. The journey moves from the high Caucasus to the softer landscapes of Kakheti:
villages, vineyards, open fields and the wide Alazani Valley.
The pace changes. After the mountain section, Kakheti brings a warmer rhythm — wine, food, local tables and long views towards the Caucasus range. In the afternoon, we arrive in the wine region and settle into the new landscape. The evening is planned around a relaxed dinner with local wine — a good moment for the group to slow down after the road and enjoy Georgia’s hospitality in one of its most generous regions.
Dinner and overnight in Kakheti.
Day 6 KAKHETI — WINE, VILLAGES AND THE ALAZANI VALLEY
This day is dedicated to Kakheti, Georgia’s main wine region.
We visit selected places connected with local wine culture: vineyards, a family marani or a small winery, depending on the final route and season.
The experience is not only about tasting wine. It is about understanding how wine belongs to Georgian daily life — to family, food, land, hospitality and the table. We may also visit Telavi or Tsinandali, depending on the final arrangement of the programme. The aim is to combine wine with the wider story of Kakheti: aristocratic estates, local markets, villages, gardens and the landscape of the Alazani Valley. The day includes a shared meal or wine dinner, giving the group time to enjoy the region at a relaxed pace.
A hands-on cooking experience can also be included, depending on the group and season — a natural way to share time together without making the journey feel forced. Overnight in Kakheti.
Day 7
SIGHNAGHI, BODBE AND FAREWELL SUPRA
After breakfast, we travel towards Sighnaghi, one of the most charming towns in Kakheti. Set high above the Alazani Valley and surrounded by defensive walls, Sighnaghi offers wide views of vineyards, villages and the distant Caucasus mountains. There is time for a walk through the town, coffee, photographs and a slower final look at the landscapes of eastern Georgia. We then visit Bodbe Monastery, associated with Saint Nino and one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the country. Its quiet setting and views over the valley make it a beautiful final cultural stop before returning to Tbilisi. In the evening, we gather for the farewell supra.
This final dinner brings the journey together: the city, the mountains, the wine region, the road and the people who shared it. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 8
TBILISI — DEPARTURE
After breakfast, the journey comes to a close in Tbilisi.
Depending on the flight schedule, there may be time for a final coffee, a short walk, a visit to a wine shop, a small artisan store or one last moment in the old city. Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport. Departure
